Overview

ExploreJogja is a modern travel website concept created to promote tourism in Yogyakarta. The design focuses on delivering a smooth and enjoyable user experience while highlighting the beauty, culture, and top destinations of the region. This project combines clean visuals, intuitive navigation, and informative content to help users easily discover, plan, and book their trips.

It aims to inspire both local and international travelers by showcasing curated travel categories, popular places, and real user stories — all in one seamless platform.

Challenge

One of my main challenges in designing ExploreJogja was how to present a large amount of travel information—destinations, categories, prices, and reviews—without cluttering the interface. I wanted the site to feel inspiring, not overwhelming.

I also needed to make sure the design worked smoothly on both desktop and mobile, which meant carefully planning the layout to stay clean and responsive. Another challenge was building a sense of trust and excitement for users who may be unfamiliar with Jogja. I tackled this by using warm imagery, real testimonials, and friendly copy to make the experience feel personal and reliable.

Most importantly, I had to make sure that users didn’t just browse—but felt encouraged to take action. Whether that meant searching for a destination, signing up for a newsletter, or planning a trip, I crafted clear visual cues and calls-to-action to gently guide each step.

Solution

To address the challenges, I focused on clarity, emotional engagement, and user action—building a design that is clean, trustworthy, and easy to explore across devices.

Results

The final outcome was a modern, intuitive travel website concept that effectively showcases the beauty of Yogyakarta while offering a smooth user experience. The design strikes a balance between aesthetics and usability, making it easy for users to browse destinations, read reviews, and take action—whether it’s planning a trip or subscribing for updates.

Key improvements included a clean, mobile-responsive layout, engaging visuals that reflect local culture, and a simplified navigation system. The design received positive feedback for its clarity, friendly tone, and visual appeal—demonstrating its potential to be developed into a fully functional tourism platform.
